Upgrade Works/Reconstruction

This project was undertaken to improve the pedestrian and cyclist facilities in advance of the construction and opening of a new school

The project consists of the upgrading of the N11/Johnstown Road junction and extending both sides of the N11 and on the Johnstown Road. The scheme has been undertaken to realign the road and improve the pedestrian and cyclist facilities.

Realignment of 1km of the existing urban R680 including the construction of a new roundabout at Gladstone Street

Removal of the existing Leopardstown Roundabout and replacement with a signalised junction. The project also included the construction of a new link road to provide access to South County Business Park and Leopardstown Racecourse.

Upgrade works to the approaches of Spawell Roundabout and the construction of improved pedestrian/cyclist facilities.

Installation of a shared surface and designated footpaths and cycletracks in 6 No. locations around the villages of Ongar and Castaheany approaching a number of schools.

Widening of 120m of the Old Nangor Road including the demolition and reconstruction of a protected stone masonry wall.

Construction of a 2nd merge lane on the M9 to facilitate merging onto the M7 Northbound.

Realignment, improvement and resurfacing of 1.8km of Kilbarry Road including the construction of two new roundabouts and dedicated cycle-lane.

Reconstruction of existing road build up of Chesterfield Avenue from Mountjoy to Gough Roundabout, repair roadworks from Castleknock Gate to Mountjoy Roundabout.

Construction and delineation of 475m of high quality segregated cycle track.

Improvement works on Richmond Street consisted of road and footpath reconstruction, service installation and diversion, street furniture, signage and road marking.
