Installation of a shared surface and designated footpaths and cycletracks in 6 No. locations around the villages of Ongar and Castaheany approaching a number of schools.
Key Elements
- Extensive traffic management on a number of routes which are heavily trafficked by pedestrians and cyclists on their way to school
- Construction of 4 No. roundabouts and realigning existing kerb lines to provide cyclist and pedestrian routes
- Installation of kerb and gully drainage, manholes and carrier drains
- Construction of footpaths and cycletracks both on and off-road facilities
- Installation of public lighting, signalised pedestrian and zebra crossings
- Working in parklands which included new entrance gates, landscaping, and anti-parking railing
- Full pavement construction and overlays of existing pavements at tie-ins
- Installation of traffic calming ramps
