Key Elements
- Design and implementation of traffic management to facilitate construction of the interchange, including the construction of a new bridge over the motorway while maintaining traffic volumes on the M9
- Construction of a 3 span precast concrete beam structure over the carriageway, with associated steel H piling, reinforced concrete bases and columns, parapet railings, waterproofing, bridge deck construction and surfacing
- Full pavement construction of merge and diverge ramps, tie-ins to existing motorway, 2 No. roundabouts and access into proposed service station site
- Installation of new drainage, interceptors, connections to existing outfalls and alterations of existing drainage to facilitate the new interchange
- Installation and alteration of existing safety barrier
- Installation of varying types of motorway boundary treatment including badger proof fencing and close boarded mammal fencing
- Installation of 2 no. cantilever steel gantries
- Extensive earthworks in excess of 90,000m³ of material and lime stabilisation of 40,000m³
- 30,000m of Wick Drains (prefabricated vertical drainage) over an area of 8500m² including significant geotechnical design, analysis and monitoring
