Construction of 1.65km of a 4m wide shared cycle track/footway through the Dodder Valley Park.

Key Elements

  • Installation of 52m cable stayed bridge over the River Dodder including piled foundations and 22m steel bridge over the Ballycullen Stream
  • Working in a PNA and liaising with Inland Fisheries and the National Parks and Wildlife Services to carry out the works
  • Full installation of decorative public lighting and CCTV system along the route including all chambers, ducting, cabling and fittings
  • Construction of gabion structure to facilitate the construction of the bridge foundations
  • Construction of temporary crane pad and haul road on poor ground to facilitate the 750t crane required to install the bridges
  • Full bituminous construction of the new surface
  • Significant landscaping and planting in the park on completion of construction works
