Removal of the existing Leopardstown Roundabout and replacement with a signalised junction. The project also included the construction of a new link road to provide access to South County Business Park and Leopardstown Racecourse.
Key Elements
- Traffic management to maintain significant volumes of national and urban traffic, pedestrians and cyclists
- Full construction of new link road, footpaths and cycletracks
- Installation of drainage for both the new link road and the existing road, including attenuation pond and petrol interceptor
- Construction of new park area at the attenuation pond including a 35m long culverted structural steel footbridge, seated areas, planting and water jets
- Installation of a number of new services in a heavily congested area including watermain, foul sewer, telecommunications, electricity, public lighting and traffic ducting to facilitate new traffic signals - Working with 3D modelling software
- Construction of random rubble granite wall and new entrance for Leopardstown Racecourse - Works included coloured surfacing, granite kerbing and soft landscaping
- Construction of RC retaining structures to alleviate restricted land takes
- Feature signage for Leopardstown Racecourse and full road signage for new junction and link road
- Decorative public lighting to racecourse entrance and park area
