The project was undertaken to construct a new entrance to RTE from the N11 and reconfigure the internal road layout of the site to allow for the closure of the existing entrance.

Key Elements

  • Installation of a new signalised junction on the N11 and a new separate pedestrian crossing
  • Liaising with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Dublin City Council to obtain the road opening licence and associated T2 licences
  • Demolition and site clearance works
  • Installation of extensive services throughout the site and relocation of existing services such as watermain, drainage, ducting and public lighting
  • Relocation of existing bus stops and liaising with Dublin Bus to agree same
  • Full pavement construction of all internal roads and reconstruction of existing N11 to create a new junction
  • Rotation of the steps of the existing overbridge
  • Installation of pollution control measures within the RTE site
  • High quality paving works to construct the new plaza and installation of new RTE sign
  • Construction of new footpaths and cycletracks on the public road
  • Design and implementation of all temporary traffic management both internally on the site and externally on the N11
