These works have been undertaken to construct a new street from North Wall Quay to Sherriff's Street.
Key Elements
- Construction of 300m of a new street including all earthworks and pavement layers
- Installation of new services including communications, ESB, district heating, watermains, foul sewer, traffic lighting and public lighting
- Extensive granite paving and kerbing used throughout the works
- Trenchless installation of all services underneath the LUAS on Mayor Street
- Liaising with Dublin City Council to obtain the various licences required to undertake the works
- Demolition works on a number of buildings and walls in advance of the works
- New drainage installed for full length of the scheme and connection into existing network
- Construction of 3 new junctions, on North Wall Quay, Mayor Street and Sherriff's Street including traffic signals
- All traffic signs and road marking installed as part of the works, including alterations to existing road markings at interfaces
- Construction of new cycletrack and footpaths including tie ins to existing works
