The project was undertaken to re-mediate existing gabions which were beginning to fail.
Key Elements
- Site clearance works to remove the existing gabion structure and other vegetation
- Design and construction of a reinforced concrete temporary retaining wall to facilitate the construction works
- Design and construction of a suspended slab to construct the foundation of the retaining wall
- Construction of the new gabion wall to form the new embankment along the River Liffey
- Monitoring of the existing dwelling located adjacent to this embankment
- Installation of a reinforced soil structure to form the embankment
- Construction of accommodation works for the dwelling to include hardlandscaping around the dwelling (footpaths, drainage, driveway), fencing and landscaping works
