This project was undertaken to improve the pedestrian and cyclist facilities adjacent to the Knocklyon Shopping Centre and a number of schools.

Key Elements

  • Design and implementation of all traffic management at this busy signalised junction to facilitate the reconstruction of the footpaths, kerb lines and fully resurface the Junction
  • Full pavement construction for the widened sections of the carriageway and wearing course replacement for the entire section
  • Installation of two new pedestrian crossings and alterations to the phasing of the lights at the existing signalised junctions
  • Construction of new footpaths in block paving
  • Construction of a new cycletrack
  • Installation of new public lighting
  • Construction of a new retaining wall
  • Full road marking for the scheme and all new relevant road signs
