Upgrade works to the approaches of Spawell Roundabout and the construction of improved pedestrian/cyclist facilities.
Key Elements
- Traffic management to maintain high volumes of urban vehicular, pedestrian and cyclist traffic including lane closures, diversions, narrow lanes and shuttle systems
- Resurfacing of the roundabout and all arms, and installation of high friction surfacing on all approaches to the roundabout
- Upgrading of cyclist facilities on all approaches including the provision of wider shared surfaces (cyclist/pedestrians) and off- road cycletracks
- Installation of 7 No. new Toucan (signalised) pedestrian crossings at the roundabout including all ducting, cabling, poles and signal heads
- Installation of new road signage and pedestrian guard rails
- Relocation and installation of new public lighting
