Construction of 4.5km of new dual carriageway and the upgrading of 2.5km of single carriageway to dual carriageway.
Key Elements
- Traffic management to facilitate the upgrading of the existing carriageway while maintaining significant traffic volumes of 50,000 AADT
- Upgrading and widening of Ballydowd Bridge over the N4 Dual Carriageway
- Liaising with Inland Fisheries to facilitate the installation of a number of culverts
- Construction of a new steel footbridge over the N4 Dual Carriageway
- Installation and diversion of services including watermain, telecommunications, public lighting, electricity and traffic signals
- Extensive boundary treatments and construction of various accommodation works for landwoners along the scheme
- Installation of new bridge parapet railings and safety barrier
- Surfacing works including full pavement construction and overlay works
- Construction of footpaths and cycletracks including off road cycletracks
