Our directors, who are all long term employees of the business, are active on all contracts. They lead teams of directly employed engineers and supervisors.
The majority of activities are carried out using our own plant and labour resources. We also employ specialist sub-contractors with whom we have trusted long term working relations.
Eamonn Stapleton
Managing Director

Eamonn has worked for Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. since 1988, first employed as a site engineer having graduated with a degree in civil engineering from TUD (formerly DIT) in 1985. He has worked on a multitude of projects including rail, LUAS and many high-profile roads projects. He became a Director of Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2013, taking over the role of Managing Director. Eamonn achieved his chartership status in 2013 and became a Fellow of Engineers Ireland in 2023.
As Managing Director, Eamonn has taken a vital interest in health and safety and was awarded an MSc in Occupational Health and Safety in 2021 from UCD. Eamonn leads the HSEQIS department in Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. focusing on continuous improvements in the department. As a former President of the CECA and current VP of the CIF, he is an active member of the Health and Safety Committee working to improve the health and safety of the industry.
Niall McElwaine
Contracts Director

Graduating from Queen’s University Belfast in 1999, Niall spent a brief time working in the UK before joining Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. as a Site Engineer in 2000. Niall’s early career saw him involved in Luas Enabling Works and in constructing buildings and business parks, before moving into public sector civil engineering work in the mid-00s. He achieved his Chartered Engineer status in 2008, and he has served as a Director in Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. since 2013.
Niall works as a Project Director overseeing a variety of projects for Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. While he specialises in building works within the company, as a Director he has also managed many civil engineering projects and undertakes the role of Financial Director.
Thomas Corcoran
Contracts Director

Thomas joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. as a degree graduate of the University of Strathclyde in 1998. Since joining the Company, he has worked on large scale civil infrastructure projects in urban areas and on new greenfield road projects, as well as large scale widening projects on some of Dublin’s main artery roads. He became a Director of Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2013 as well as achieving his chartership status with Engineers Ireland.
As a Project Director, Tom has worked on large civil engineering projects in both the private and public sector, as well as heading up projects in the Pharma and Data Centre sectors He is also responsible for managing the extensive plant fleet owned by Clonmel Enterprises Ltd.
Brian Gravin
Contracts Director

Brian graduated from Dundee University in 1999, achieving his chartership status in 2013. He joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. as a graduate engineer, before becoming a Director of Clonmel Enterprises Ltd in 2016.
As a Project Director, he has worked predominantly for the public sector throughout his career concentrating much of his work on urban regeneration schemes in the Dublin region. In parallel to these projects, he has overseen asset management works on behalf of TII since the early 00’s, working on some of the busiest roads throughout Ireland.
Anne Kinsella
Engineering Manager

Anne joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2012, having previously worked in Local Authority and consultancy practice. She qualified as an engineer in 2002 from UCD, earning further qualifications in highway design and construction, environmental management and public procurement in the years since her graduation. She achieved her chartership status from Engineers Ireland in 2009 and became a Fellow of Engineers Ireland in 2016.
Anne’s role of Engineering Manager sees her recruiting and managing our engineering staff, equipment, training and career progression, with a particular emphasis on Engineers Ireland Chartership. She is also responsible for managing our health, safety, environmental, quality and information management systems, ensuring that certification is managed for the business and continuous improvement of the systems is maintained. More recently, she had been heavily involved in the introduction of carbon counting in the company as well as a number of Industry Bodies.
Trevor McArdle
Contracts Manager

Trevor is a very experienced Contracts Manager, having started work on construction projects in 1997 with Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. Since commencing work in the industry, Trevor has furthered his education with the qualifications in construction site management, culminating in a diploma in Site Management and subsequently a higher certificate in civil engineering from TUD (formerly DIT) in 2013.
Trevor has extensive experience of working on urban renewal projects particularly in the Dublin area and is skilled in key areas of temporary traffic management and utility management and diversions, which are essential skills for undertaking urban road and street renewal projects.
Mark Price
IT Operations Manager

Mark joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2003, coming from a background in accounting and IT, having graduated with a Certificate in Computing in 2001. He initially worked in the Accounts Department, but with his keen interest and knowledge in IT, he also provided IT support, before moving fully into our IT Department in 2005. Mark has over 20 years’ experience in securely managing Clonmel Enterprises Ltd.’s information technology infrastructure. In 2021, he gained a diploma in Cyber Security from the UCD Professional Academy and in 2023 he was awarded a Higher Diploma of Science in Computing from the National College of Ireland.
Mark ensures the integrity of Clonmel Enterprises Ltd.’s information and was instrumental in developing the Company’s ISO27001 certified information security system. He also is a licenced drone operator and undertakes the majority of our drone progress footage for projects.
Peter Mulvihill
Safety Manager

Peter joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2019 as the Health and Safety Manager. Peter has a BSc in Environmental, Health and Safety Management along with a separate BSc in Environmental Studies. He has a keen interest in behavioural health and safety and has supplemented his health and safety qualifications with an MA in Advanced Facilitation Skills for Promoting Health and Wellbeing and an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Peter manages our Health and Safety Department and has been instrumental in spear heading the company’s mental health awareness and training initiatives. He is responsible for ensuring that the company’s health and safety policies and procedures comply with the latest legislation, while also ensuring that the overall system operates in a continuous improvement loop.
Declan Whooley
Financial Controller

Declan joined Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. in 2019 as Financial Controller, having extensive experience in financial management in a range of sectors including construction. He graduated from MU (formerly CIT) in 1989 before becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.
Declan has been instrumental in ensuring Clonmel Enterprises Ltd. continue to meet their financial reporting and corporate governance obligations and contributes to the strategic financial development of the company.
