This project was undertaken to improve the pedestrian and cyclist facilities adjacent to the Knocklyon Shopping Centre and a number of schools.
Key Elements
- Design and implementation of all traffic management at this busy signalised junction to facilitate the reconstruction of the footpaths, kerb lines and fully resurface the Junction
- Full pavement construction for the widened sections of the carriageway and wearing course replacement for the entire section
- Installation of two new pedestrian crossings and alterations to the phasing of the lights at the existing signalised junctions
- Construction of new footpaths in block paving
- Construction of a new cycletrack
- Installation of new public lighting
- Construction of a new retaining wall
- Full road marking for the scheme and all new relevant road signs
